About Dr Capon
Dr Alexandra Capon prides herself on being a compassionate communicator. She believes in the importance of managing the person as a whole, not just the condition. Dedicated to helping people with a wide range of rheumatic conditions, she has a particular interest in inflammatory arthritis (Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, Gout).
Dr Capon is a mother who has a unique understanding of managing women with inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune diseases through their child bearing years.
Having always been physically active, Dr Capon has a keen interest in sports medicine and has co-authored a number of book chapters relating to Masters athletes.
Dr Capon graduated from University of New South Wales with Honours in 2007. She trained at John Hunter, Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore Hospitals, attaining her Rheumatology Fellowship in 2015. She enjoys teaching junior doctors and regularly provides lectures in Rheumatology to prepare them for their specialist exams.

What is a Rheumatologist?
A rheumatologist is a specialist physician focused on treating musculoskeletal conditions and autoimmune disease. This encompasses a broad range of diseases from osteoarthritis through to rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica and gout. Rheumatologists also treat inflammatory disease of the vessels, such as giant cell arteritis and vasculitis.

For new patients - a valid referral from your General Practitioner (GP) or specialist.
For all patients - any recent investigation results including:

Please note: a GP referral is valid for 12 months, a specialist referral is valid for 3 months
